We have been very busy in Spanish over the last four weeks! We have learned a lot and have begun to build our vocabulary in a BIG way! We have studied a unit on family, learning how to say all of our family members names in Spanish. We have also learned how to say "House" in Spanish, and how to describe all the rooms in our houses. We can even tell you which family members are in which rooms of our homes (see the handout we worked on in class that should be in your student's folder). We also reviewed our colors, and took a week to learn about college and how knowing Spanish can be useful in your careers. 4th and 5th grades had a guest speaker who is a lawyer and who has traveled the world and was able to share his experiences with them, and they learned a lot about Spanish culture, and why it is valuable to know how to speak Spanish as a lawyer. Take a look at the photos below!

During weeks One and Two in Spanish, we learned all about each other! We learned how to ask someone their name in Spanish, and how to reply if that question was asked to us! We also made booklets that shared with our friends our favorite foods, colors, age, grade, music, and our birthdays.
Weeks Three and Four were a continuation of learning all about each other. We discussed our families, and learned the Spanish words for father, mother, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, daughter son, and grandparents. We have had a fantastic start to the year, and Spanish folders will come home at the end of September so that you all can see exactly what we have been doing/learning. |
